Soledad Guzman Gaytan

Soledad Guzman Gaytan went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday March 9, 2023 at the age of 49. She was surrounded by the love of her family. Soledad fought a courageous battle against cancer for three years. Her faith in God gave her the strength & determination to fight cancer courageously. She had the heart of a warrior & remained an inspiration. Although she was a long time resident of Joliet, Illinois. Soledad was born in Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mexico. She was born on March 25, 1973 and is the daughter of Ma Luz Gaytan & Arturo Guzman Vega. Soledad was a great nurturer to her own family; she worked as member of Home Run Inn for about 20 years. She was great company to her fellow workers. She loved her lovebirds “Los Chenchos”. She also loved to cook for her family, and watch her novelas. She always looked forward to spending time with her family, and the meals spent together eating at the park. When she did have free time she would spend time gardening or scolling through facebook. “ My Mother sought happiness especially towards the people around her and always cared about their wellbeing above hers.” Proceeded in death by her Mother, Ma Luz Gaytan, Brother Rigoberto Guzman and her unborn baby. Soledad is survived by her Loving husband of 31 years, Nabor her “Daddy’s”. She is the devoted Mother to Gerardo Ortiz. Also survived by her father Arturo Guzman. Her siblings: Jose Castillo, Elpidio Guzman, Carlos Guzman, Guadalupe Guzman, Juan Guzman, and sisters Ezperanza Guzman, Maria Guzman (twin sister), Guillermina Guzman, Patricia Guzman, and Ma Guadalupe Guzman. She is loved and will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. My father and I would like to thank everyone as well as family who helped my mother during her journey through chemo therapy. Taking care of her when we were not available, and during her stay at the hospital we thank everyone who showed support. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 14, 2023, visiting hours will be from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM held at Delgado Funeral Chapel located at 400 Landau Ave. Joliet, Illinois 60432. Funeral Mass: March 15, 2023 1:00PM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church located at 205 E. Jackson St. (Rt. 6) Joliet Illinois.
