Pilar L. Mendoza

Pilar L. Mendoza passed away Sunday, June 15th, 2025, on Father’s Day at home surrounded by his family at the age of 78. Pilar was a long-time resident of Joliet, Illinois but he his hometown is Guayabo De Munoz, Manuel Doblado GTO. He was born on May 26th, 1947. Pilar was the definition of a hard worker. His family was taken care of and provided for by his work ethic. He took the plunge many years ago to start his own business and create his legacy. He started facing health issues back in 2010, but that did not slow him down. He still worked 6 days a week and tried his best to overcome his new limitations. The past 5 years, his body finally started to slow down, but didn’t stop. Since he couldn't physically drive anymore, he invested in his tricycles and began to bike around all of Joliet's East Side. Those couple of hours he took to relax at night, he enjoyed YouTube tremendously, keeping up on news and watching true crime shows. He loved going to Los Comales and getting his favorite 3 tacos, 1 de lengua, 1 de pastor, y 1 de chorizo. I’m sure the cooks there did not appreciate that. Haha. Pilar will be forever loved and truly missed by everyone blessed to have known him. Pilar is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Juana Mendoza. Proud father of Jose Mendoza, Fernando Mendoza, and Daniel Mendoza, and grandfather of Anthony Munoz, Adrian Bustos, Fernando Mendoza Jr, Sebastian Mendoza, Damien Mendoza, Athena Mendoza, and Maya Mendoza. Pilar has 1 older brother, Rafael Mendoza, and 4 sisters: Elisia Gomez, Maria Mendoza, Juana Vasquez, and Socoro Mendoza. From his siblings, he has numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mauro & Altagracia Mendoza (Leon), and his brother Efren Mendoza. The Mendoza Family invites you to say goodbye to Pilar. Raynor Ave, Joliet, IL 60435 Con profunda tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Pilar L. Mendoza, quien nos dejo el 6/15/2025 a la edad de 78 anos. Pilar nació Mayo 26 de 1947 en Guayabo De Munoz, Manuel Doblado, Guanajuato, Mexico. Pilar era la definición de un trabajador incansable. Su determinación cuidaba y mantenía a su familia. Hace muchos años, se arriesgó a emprender su propio negocio y crear su propio legado. Empezó a tener problemas de salud en 2010, pero eso no lo detuvo. Siguió trabajando seis días a la semana e hizo todo lo posible por superar sus nuevas limitaciones. En los últimos cinco años, su cuerpo finalmente empezó a desgastarse, pero definitivamente no se detuvo. Como ya no podía conducir físicamente, invirtió en sus bicicletas y comenzó a recorrer el East Side de Joliet en bicicleta. Esas pocas horas que dedicaba a relajarse por la noche, disfrutaba muchísimo de YouTube, manteniéndose al día con las noticias y viendo programas de crímenes reales. Le encantaba ir a Los Comales y pedir sus tres tacos favoritos: uno de lengua, uno de pastor y uno de chorizo. Seguro que a los cocineros de allí no les gustó eso. Jaja. Pilar siempre será amado y verdaderamente extrañado por todos los bendecidos de haberlo conocido. Ahora el se encuentra descansando en la gloria eterna con sus padres, Mauro Mendoza y Altagracia Leon y su hermano Efren Mendoza. Le sobreviven su esposa Juana Mendoza y 3 hijos , Jose Mendoza, Fernanado Mendoza y Daniel Mendoza. Tambien le sobreiven 7 nietos, Anthony Munoz, Adrian Bustos, Fernando Mendoza Jr, Sebastian Mendoza, Damien Mendoza, Athena Mendoza y Maya Mendoza. Pilar tiene un hermano mayor, Rafael Mendoza y 4 hermanas, Elisia Gomez, Maria Mendoza, Juana Vasquez y Socoro Mendoza. De sus hermanos y hermanas tiene numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas, familia extensa y amigos. La familia Mendoza quiere invitar a quienes gusten despedirse de Pilar.
