Mateo Guerrero Muñiz May 23, 1960 – March 12, 2021 Mateo Guerrero Muñiz, age 60, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 12, 2021, peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born May 23, 1960 in Antiguo Morelos, Tamaulipas and resident of Joliet, Illinois for almost 40 years. God allowed him to be with us for ten years after surviving a brain aneurysm in 2011. His life’s accomplishment was to be a loving husband, father and grandfather. God has required his presence, but we will always have his example of strength and gentleness and the moments we spent together, because the deep love we have for him will keep us together forever. Preceded in death by his paternal grand-parents: Mateo Guerrero and Cristina Alvarez and his maternal grand-parents Simion Muñiz and Norberta Ochoa. Survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Guadalupe (nee Franchini). Loving father to Carlos, Ary, Jorge (Viridiana), Denisse and Alyssa Guerrero, his grandchildren Leilani, Gianna and Jackson Guerrero. Also survived by his parents, Enrique Guerrero and Guadalupe Muñiz, his brother Enrique (Yesenia) and his sisters Laura (Abel) Castillo and Cristina (Francisco) Tejeda and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank Silver Cross Hospital for the great care and Delgado Funeral Chapel for the attention to the Family and Mateo’s last wishes. Nacido el 23 de Mayo de 1960 en Antiguo Morelos, Tamaulipas y residente de Joliet, Illinois por casi 40 años. Dios le permitió estar con nosotros durante diez años después de sobrevivir a un aneurisma cerebral en el 2011. A lo largo de su vida logro ser un buen esposo, padre y abuelo. Dios ha requerido de su presencia, pero su ejemplo de fortaleza y dulzura y los momentos que pasamos juntos nunca los perderemos, ya que el profundo amor que le tenemos nos mantendrá unidos por siempre. Precedido en la muerte por sus abuelos paternos: Mateo Guerrero y Cristina Alvarez y sus abuelos maternos Simion Muñiz and Norberta Ochoa. Le sobreviven su amada esposa por 40 años, Guadalupe (Franchini). Fue un padre amoroso para sus hijos, Carlos, Ary, Jorge (Viridiana), Denisse y Alyssa Guerrero, sus nietos Leilani, Gianna y Jackson Guerrero. También le sobreviven sus padres, Enrique Guerrero y Guadalupe Muñiz, su hermano Enrique (Yesenia), sus hermanas Laura (Abel) Castillo y Cristina (Francisco) Tejeda y varios sobrinos, tíos y primos. La familia le agradece al hospital Silver Cross por los cuidados y a la funeraria Delgado por sus atenciones para llevar a cabo sus últimos deseos de Mateo Guerrero.
