April 30, 1948 - December 26, 2021
Margarita Mancera Age 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday December 26, 2021, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 30, 1948, in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico. A lifelong resident of Joliet. Margarita was a brave warrior against kidney failure for 25 years and 6 months. She fought many battles against several illnesses including breast cancer with such strength and determination for the love of her family. She faced each illness and fought hard with so much courage and strength. Her faith in God motivated her to stay strong. She was an AMAZING person who always maintained her positive attitude, loved life and loved her family. She was the life of the party! She enjoyed cooking, going out to dinner as a family, enjoyed traveling, loved classical music and poems, enjoyed concerts, walks in the park and spending time with everyone. She enjoyed going to church on Sundays and always had posadas in December. She also enjoyed watching a good game of football. She enjoyed doing word searches. She read lots of books and enjoyed educating herself by watching channel 11 to learn about other countries and their cultures. It was always a pleasure to have an open conversation with her since she knew about everything. Her cheerful attitude and smile will be missed by all. Preceded in death by her parents, Angel and Maura Garcia (nee Villegas). Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Luis Mancera. Devoted and loving mother to Margie (Henry) Santamaria, Luis (Patricia)G. Mancera, Adriana (Chris) Cervantes and Andres Mancera. She loved her grandchildren, Sofia I. Santamaria, Sebastian A. Mancera, Brianna Mancera, Acelyn Mancera, Ajani Cervantes and Zayden Cervantes. Also survived by her sister, Guadalupe Mancera and her brother, Antonio Garcia and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends. The family would like to send a special Thank You to her second family at Davita Dialysis at Silver Cross, her doctors and nurses. As well as the Corner Stone Hospice Care. She always talked about how everyone took such good care of her and always appreciated the support. Thank you to the sisters of the Vilaseca Center for always praying with her and for her, they were her spiritual support.
