Christine M. Delgado, age 50, passed away unexpectedly Saturday March 21, 2020 at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. She was born in Joliet IL, on November 18 1969, a daughter of the late Lyle W. Brand and Charlotte F. Brand. She was affectionately known among family and friends as “Bahama Mamma Loca”. Christine graduated from Joliet Central High School in the late 80’s. Christine’s strong work ethic and desire to serve others drew her to continue school to become a CNA certified nursing assistant at an early age. Christine was a devoted CNA, and caregiver to many residents at several assisted living homes in the Joliet area. She worked for Help At Home for many years taking care of the elderly. Her passion to serve people led her into the restaurant business. She served at Louise’s Family Restaurant in Joliet, Anthony’s Pancake House and Georges Pancake House in Lockport, IL. Christine was a very unique and special person whom loved to laugh and could begin a conversation with just about anyone. Christine enjoyed knitting, crocheting, family board games, and 80’s rock music. “To know Christine was to love her. She was genuinely friendly, kind-hearted and cared about people” “With a servant’s heart, Christine was the kind of person that would help anyone she knew with whatever resources she had available.” Preceded in death by her parents, and long time friend Barbara Bennett. She is survived by her children, Mark A. Brand, Sarah M. Coleman, Delfino D. Delgado, and Rayna E. Gooch; Four grandchildren, Jaime A. Ceballos Jr, Alma M. Ceballos, Maricella E. Delgado and Jamal D. Gooch Jr of Joliet; sister, Juliana F. Brand of Plainfield; and brother Bruce Stebbins of Mayville, NY. Also survived by her best friend, Linda Doty and several relatives and friends.
