Went to be with the Lord on Friday July 8th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 65. “AC” was born on June 26, 1957. He is the youngest child of Tinia M. Gavin (Knight) & the late Cannon Gavin. AC was a lifelong resident of “J-Town” where he met & married his love, Jennifer Cousin on 10/02/99. Ace was always a great provider to his family. AC worked long tenures at Joliet West Campus, St. Joseph’s Hospital, & eventually became the Supervisor of Security at the University of St. Francis & the Joliet YMCA. AC fought a courageous battle against a severe illness over the past 6 years. His strength, positivity & determination never ended. He faced his illness head on with his faith in God. Preceded in death by his father, Cannon Gavin. Left to Cherish AC’s memory is his Mother, Tinia M. Gavin (Knight); his wife, Jennifer Cousin & children: Tyrone McDonald, Shanika Shelton-Harris (Tiffany), Ace Gavin, Jr. Andre Gavin, Ronique Cousin, Anishia Cousin, Kuwan Cousin. Ac forever remains a beloved brother to Patricia A. Kelly, Diane Gildon, Cannon Gavin Jr. Rena Craft, & Shelia (Rev. Charles) George. Funeral Services for AC will be held on July 22, 2022 at St. Mark's C.M.E. Church located at 348 S. Joliet St. 60436. Visitation Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., services begin at 11:00 a.m. Officianting: Pastor Sam Murphy of Christ Centered Church. Burial: Elmhurst Cemetery 1212 E. Washington St. Joliet, IL.
