James T. Hernandez , the myth, the legend, my honey James was a hardworking man, husband, father, grandfather. His family and all that knew him loved him. He loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Those were the best moments of his life. James wouldn’t admit it, but his proudest moments were when his twins graduated high school during covid. James sat back and realized we did it, Hope and I raised seven beautiful souls to the best of our ability and got them all to graduation and live a beautiful life. Watching them make their families was awesome for James. Football season was James’s passion. Every Sunday people knew to come over whether you were invited or not, our door was open to everyone. James let them know that dead-end was the spot to be at. The last 2 years James and Hope became empty nesters. My honey went upstairs, knocked all the walls down and made one big room. James said no one was allowed to come back. He was going to make him a man cave. I told James do it for me and you, just make sure you have room for a bed because when you get drunk you won’t be able to walk down the stairs, "he laughed". He always instilled in his kids to be strong and hardworking. Build your family bond, because at the end of the day your family will be there for you and love you the most. James was a great mechanic. He loved teaching his two boys how to do work on cars. His girls were his princesses even if they got married no matter what those were his girls. And when they brought someone home to meet him, they would have to listen to us on how to treat his girls. We could go on and on about James, my husband. To know him was to love everything about him. Till we meet again honey. Your kids and I will dance every dance possible for you. We will drink every drink in remembrance of you and all the memories you gave us. We will treasure you till our last breath. We love you James beyond words. Your Loving Wife Hope and Family At age 56, James T. Hernandez passed away unexpectedly in Combes, TX. He was born in Joliet, IL November 26, 1967 and was a lifelong resident. He is Preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Hernandez; one brother, Jesse A. Hernandez; one uncle, Gelo Hernandez; one of his favorite cousin’s, Rogelio Hernandez; one mother-in-law, Pauline Mendez; one sister-in-law, Olga Patino and one brother-in-law, Guillermo Mendez. James is survived by his loving wife of forty years Esperanza "Hope" (nee Mendez); seven children, Sandra N. Hernandez, James T Hernandez Jr., Eric A. Hernandez (Sabrina), Sanjuana A. Alonzo (Adam), Yesenia D. Huerta (Jonathan), Rachel C. and Gina E. Hernandez. Also survived by his nine grandchildren, CJ, Caden, A’zailey, EJ, Elias, Elam, Cataleia, Metzli, and Izela. His mother, Antonia Montoya; brothers and sisters, Juanita Hernadez, Joanne Perez, Jessica Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, John Hernandez, T.J Hernandez, Lupita Hernandez, Rebecca Hernandez, Nilda Hernandez, Diane Marie Hightower, and Ahmani Hernandez.
