Graciela Chavez Martinez, 82, of Joliet, Illinois, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 10, 1943, and spent the majority of her life in Joliet, where she built a legacy of faith, love, and perseverance. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Francisco Chavez, and her son, Alberto Chavez. Graciela’s unshakable faith in the Lord Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She was never afraid to share the Word of God, to speak boldly about her Savior, and to encourage others to find salvation through faith. Her devotion to Scripture and her passion for helping others know Christ were central to who she was and how she lived. Beyond her faith, Graciela was deeply loving toward her family. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always showering them with warmth, guidance, and prayer. Known as a fighter who never gave up, she inspired her family and all who knew her with her resilience and unwavering spirit. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and carry her lessons of faith and strength in their hearts.
