Gerardo Hernandez , “Gera”, “Jerry”, “Honey”, “Nino”, “Compa”, “Gordo” Age 42, Went to be with the Lord on the 13th of Friday, 2023. Surrounded by his loving family. Born October 21, 1980 in Cuaracurio, Michoacán, México. Life long resident of Joliet- Rockdale. Gerardo was born to his mother, Martha Bibiana Pizano, and his father Alfredo Hernandez Lopez. Anyone who been blessed to now Gerardo can tell you what a sweet and loving soul he had. His smile is one that you would always remember. His calming presence followed everywhere and could always be felt. He was a genuine person with a funny personality. He was always selfless, he wanted only the best for his family, and he will always be deeply missed. It is hard to put into words the kind of person he was because there is so much to say but there isn’t enough words that does justice to who he was as a person. It all seems like a nightmare that seems like we can’t wake up from. As young as he was with such a kind soul it is not fair you were taken from us so soon. But, everyone here is very fortunate to have met Gerardo and have these unforgettable memories that we will carry with us forever. As your time was cut short, I wouldn’t trade the memories we have with you. I know I am not just speaking for myself but for everyone saying how inspired we feel from you. You knew everything and if you didn’t you took the time to learn in order to help his family and or friends. He cared so much for his family he didn’t tell them when he didn’t feel okay to not worry them and his faith kept him going and to keep fighting through those tough times. He was an example of Christ, because he suffered in silence. No matter how you felt you never said no to your family and never complained about anything. I think what we can learn from Gerardo is to cherish those lovely moments in the weekends or just driving around and enjoying that time because any time is special with your family and that love for your family keeps you going no matter what. Left to cherish and hold his memory are his parents, Alfredo Hernandez Lopez, and Martha Bibian Pizano. Beloved Brother to: Martin, Teófilo, Raymundo, and Juan, and Alfredo. and his Sisters; Alicia, Lucina, Margarita, and Melissa. Also survived by his loving wife of 17 years, his “Honey”, Elvia Hernandez. Devoted father to Kamila and Juanpablo. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, god sons, and god daughters. El 13 de enero de 2023, Gerardo Hernández falleció a la temprana edad de 42 años en Joliet, Illinois. Gerardo fue un amado esposo, hijo, padre y hermano. Originario de Cuaracurio, Michoacán, México, Gerardo nació de su madre, Martha Bibian Pizano, y su padre Alfredo Hernández López el 21 de octubre de 1980. Cualquiera que tenga la suerte de conocer a Gerardo puede decirte qué alma tan dulce y amorosa tenía. Su sonrisa es una que siempre recordarías. Su presencia calmante lo siguió a todas partes y siempre se podía sentir. Era una persona genuina con una personalidad divertida. Siempre fue desinteresado, solo quería lo mejor para su familia y siempre lo extrañaremos profundamente. Es difícil expressar con palabras el tipo de persona que era porque hay mucho que decir, pero no hay suficientes palabras que hagan justicia a quién era él como persona. Todo parece una pesadilla de la que parece que no podemos despertar. Con lo joven que era y con un alma tan amable, no es justo que te hayan arrebatado tan pronto. Pero, todos aquí son muy afortunados de haber conocido a Gerardo y tener estos recuerdos inolvidables que llevaremos con nosotros para siempre. Como tu tiempo se acortó, no cambiaría los recuerdos que tenemos contigo. Sé que no solo hablo por mí, sino por todos los que dicen lo inspirados que nos sentimos por ti. Sabías todo y, si no lo sabías, te tomabas el tiempo de aprender para ayudar a su familia y amigos. Se preocupaba tanto por su familia que no les decía cuando no se sentía bien para no preocuparlos y su fe lo mantuvo y siguió luchando en esos momentos difíciles. Fue un ejemplo de christo, porqué el sufría en silencio. No importa cómo te sintieras, nunca le dijiste que no a tu familia y nunca te quejaste de nada. Creo que lo que podemos aprender de Gerardo es atesorar esos hermosos momentos; los fines de semana o simplemente conducir y disfrutar ese momento porque cualquier momento es especial con su familia y ese amor por su familia lo mantiene en marcha sin importar lo que pase. Sobreviven Alfredo Hernández López y Martha Bibian Pizano. Amado Hermano de: Martín, Teófilo, Raymundo, y Juan, y Alfredo. y sus Hermanas; Alicia, Lucina, Margarita y Melissa. También le sobrevive su amada esposa durante 17 años, su “Honey”, Elvia Hernandez. Padre devoto de Kamila y Juanpablo. Le sobreviven muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, primos, ahijados y ahijadas.
