Deborah Floyd

When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know. Deborah A. Floyd, born on November 15, 1954, in Joliet, Illinois, passed away tragically on December 15, 2024, in Morris, Illinois. She was 70 years old and a longtime resident of Joliet. A graduate of Joliet Central High School, Deborah devoted her life to the care and service of others. As a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), she spent over 20 years working in home health care, nursing homes, hospice care, and with individuals facing serious illnesses. Her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on countless lives. Deborah was a loving mother to her seven children: Brittany, Haley, Jesse Jr. Lopez, and David, Danny, Darren, and Damon (Stanislaus). She found great joy in being a grandmother to seven grandchildren. She is also had support by her longtime companion, Jesse V. Lopez. She had many siblings from the Floyd, and Hamilton family and survived by numerous nephews and nieces. She was cherished by many childhood friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Lumpkins and Wayne Floyd; her brothers Ronnie Lumpkins and Gary Floyd; and dear friends Jane Talmadge and Vonna Nelson. Deborah cherished her family deeply and brought warmth to everyone she met. Known for sharing stories of her life experiences and finding the good in people no matter the situation, she touched lives with her positivity and kindness. She also enjoyed attending church services at Families of Faith Church in Channahon, Illinois. A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held on January 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Families of Faith Church, 24466 W Eames St., Channahon, Illinois 60410.
