Dawn M. Gonzalez

In loving memory of Dawn Marie Gonzalez. Dawn Gonzalez peacefully departed on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026. She peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 50. Dawn was born on October 31st 1975 in Crete, Illinois to her mother Bonita. Dawn will forever be remembered as a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister in Law, Aunt and Friend. Dawn fought a courageous battle against cancer. She fought with strength and determination but unfortunately the Lord had other plans for her. Dawn was a loving wife to her Husband Abel. Married for 28 years together for 35 years. They met when Dawn was 16 and Abel was 18. Ever since they first met they were inseparable. In 1992, Dawn and Abel welcomed their first child Abel Jr. Eight years later they had their second child Britney Marie. Dawn was a loving mother and she loved her kids very much and would do anything for them. Dawn worked at Target in Woodridge Illinois for eight years. She made many friends and memories in her years working there. Dawn made a big impact in her coworkers as they kept calling her “Grandma Dawn” and “Mama Dawn”. She enjoyed watching WWE, Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bulls during the Jordan Era. At a young age Dawn saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and became fascinated with them. She created her own collection throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by everyone she came in contact with throughout the years. Dawn is preceded in death by her Step dad William Kaszubski, Grandparents George and Carol Sokolowski, her Uncle John Beringer, her in laws Guadalupe and Esmeralda Gonzalez, and Sister in law Elizabeth Gonzalez. Survived by her loving Husband of 35 years Abel Gonzalez. Devoted Mother to Abel (Samantha) Gonzalez, and Britney Gonzalez. Dawn will be deeply missed by her Grandchildren Abigail, Abel Jordan and Eddie. Her mother Bonita (William) Kaszubski. Loving Sister in Law to Leticia (Nino) Muniz, and Esperanza Macleod. Dawn was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank Silver Cross Hospital for their affectionate care, and a special thank you to everyone who sent their love, condolences and kind words during this difficult time.
